Hydrogen is widely present and highly dangerous due to its extreme flammability. A hydrogen leak can pose serious risks to both life and property. Therefore, it is crucial to detect any hydrogen leaks in order to prevent significant losses in factories. To achieve this, hydrogen sensors like the MQ8 breakout board are used. This sensor detects hydrogen concentrations in the range of 100 to 1,000 ppm.

Digital and analogue outputs are located on through-hole pins on this breakout and are labelled as DO and AO. Digital output is determined by setting threshold values using the potentiometer. Analogue output depends on the gas concentration around the sensor.
