Description

Note: Due to component shortages and very long lead times, the Moteino might come with the ATmega328PB, but it will have the standard DualOptiboot bootloader. For all intents and purposes, it will behave the same as the ATmega328P, and users should see no difference in behavior, low power consumption, etc.

This is the R6-USB revision of Moteino, designed for use with FSK transceivers (RFM69HCW, RFM69CW) and LoRa transceivers (RFM95, RFM96).

The Moteino-USB is designed to be used without the need for an additional FTDI adapter. It has a built-in USB-Serial FTDI adapter chip, and only a regular micro-USB cable is required for power and programming.

Important: Power should be provided through USB, and the VIN pins can be used to provide 5V to other devices. You can, however, power the device through VIN from a battery pack, but it will use slightly more current than a regular Moteino.

Features:

  • Low-cost Arduino fully compatible with the Arduino IDE.
  • Includes a separate 1/4 wavelength monopole wire antenna.
  • Ultra-low power, very battery-friendly.
  • 3.3V onboard regulator (MCP1703 - 2µA quiescent) provides up to 250mA, with an input voltage of up to 16V (3.6-12V recommended). The 2µA quiescent current allows this regulator to run your Moteino on battery for years (using sleep mode).
  • Very small size (3.302 x 2.286 cm).
  • Breadboard-friendly header layout allows you to attach female/male header pins on the top or bottom and make shields for it, or just use it on the breadboard for prototyping.
  • FTDI programming header; we offer this FTDI Adapter board for programming all non-USB Moteinos.
  • DualOptiboot bootloader for fast programming and no delay at startup. Choose Arduino Uno/Moteino under Tools > Boards in the Arduino IDE.
  • Onboard yellow LED on digital pin 9 (D9 / PB1).
  • Now accepts the following transceivers: RFM69HCW / RFM69CW, RFM12B (FSK), RFM92-RFM98 (LoRa).
