Description
The APDS-9960 is a compact sensor that measures four functions simultaneously. It can detect movements you make in front of it (up, down, left, and right). Additionally, it can sense the proximity of an object, allowing for two more movements: towards the sensor and away from it. Furthermore, it features an ambient light sensor (ALS) and a color sensor that outputs data in RGB format. This is a powerful sensor with a wide range of capabilities, which was even embedded in the Samsung Galaxy S5.
It detects all gestures at a distance of 10 to 20 cm and is equipped with built-in UV and IR filters to prevent interference from other light sources. The sensor connects via the widely used I2C communication protocol.
