Description
The RTC (Real Time Clock) is a board that carefully and accurately keeps track of time and date. It is very precise, making it a better long-term choice for timekeeping than the microcontroller's built-in clock. This breakout has the capability to operate with very low power, and thanks to the alarm option and the interrupt pin, it allows the microcontroller to remain in Sleep mode until the RTC wakes it up.
The breakout includes an embedded battery holder (it is supplied without a battery), and if you lose power to the module, it will never forget the time.
