Description
Have you ever been in a situation where you wanted to connect more similar I2C devices to a controller but couldn't because of their identical I2C addresses? This is where the I2C multiplexer (I2C MUX) comes in, allowing you to use up to 8 devices with the same address on the same bus! It?s also worth mentioning that the IC TCA9548A, on which this breakout is based, has three configurable pins for the I2C address, giving a total of 8 possible addresses. This means you can connect up to 64 devices with the same address on one bus. For example, you could connect 64 BME680 sensors, all read by a single microcontroller.
This adapter is particularly useful because it allows for the multiplexing of easyC devices.
